Induced and risk-free abortion at UNDER 14 WEEKS is an intervention carried out on an OUTPATIENT BASIS, as Minor Outpatient surgery, without the need for any prior blood tests (apart from Rh due to isoimmunisation) with local anaesthetic and aspiration with Karman’s cannula, taking no longer than 4-6 minutes.We also provide the option of GENERAL INHALATORY ANALGESIA if the patient requests it in advance.
Within the objectives of the clinic are advice, information, application and monitoring of Family Planning, in order to benefit the relationship of the responsible couple, helping them to achieve planned and healthy children, and seeking to avoid UNwanted pregnancies.
When presented with a request for an Induced Abortion, the clinic will arrange an appointment with the patient so that she may make initial contact with the Social Worker.
During this appointment, the Social Worker will take down the personal details of the patient, in the event they have not already been facilitated to the secretary or receptionist.
There begins an interaction which inspires sufficient confidence in the patient in order to establish the reasons or motives which have led her to requesting an Induced Abortion, in addition providing her with the necessary information in relation to Rights and public benefits and assistance for maternity, giving a child up for adoption, or information relating to cases of the disabled, social and work-related problems, etc.
The clinic becomes a channel of communication both pre and post the procedure for the potential user. Evaluating the socio-economic situation and in the real absence of financial means, the clinic will contact the Social Worker in the corresponding area, for the purposes of adopting between them the most satisfactory solution, thereby ensuring the patient remains at no time unprotected.
The need for an interview with a psychologist-psychiatrist will be evaluated in order to determine the need for possible subsequent specialist monitoring or whether there are any indications of rape, aggression, abuse, incestuous relations etc.
Explanation and signature of the Informed Consent form, medical report where necessary, gathering of statistical data for the Department of Health, and information on VIP techniques (surgical and medical), post-procedure recommendations and monitoring. Information will also be provided in relation to contraception, in order to avoid a repeat of the unwanted pregnancy.
Subsequently, the gynaecologist will take down a clinical medical history, evaluating the weeks of gestation, explaining the surgical and medical techniques, answering any questions or queries about methods to follow subsequently in order to avoid a repeat abortion.
